Another thing that I am grateful for today (guiltily so I might add)? This insanely warm weather. I worked in a t-shirt. There was a breeze. The sky was blue. I say guiltily because I have a hunch that the longer the warmth clings, the harder it is going to be for me to adjust to the cold. And the harder for the plants too. They need time to prepare so they don't break apart with the first punch of cold. Lots of cold tolerant plants deal with the decreased temperatures by producing more sugars or converting starches into sugars. The sugars lower the freezing temperature of the plant tissue, protecting them.
Even so, it was nice to drive in to work with the windows down.
Exciting news? Those delicious sweet salad turnips are back. And they are juicy. Delicious. The greens are looking good too! Looking forward to seeing everyone this week
