The weeding party was a lot of fun. I don’t think I have ever laughed more while weeding. And we were just zipping through beds. Most of our onions have be rescued from peril and celery root and the leeks are in the clear completely. They look so good and clear.
This week has been dotted with rain storms. Every day, a storm has rolled in. Thankfully we are still in the category of just enough rain, rather than too much. Just yesterday I was harvesting the garlic scapes when suddenly a giant stepped in front of the sun. I look up to an expanse of dark, dark gray rain clouds and loud rumbling. The breeze started picking up and I could literally see the storm approaching. I raced it, but lost that one. Drenched, but finished harvesting scapes, I felt pretty happy.
All three markets are on this week:
Somerville: Thursday, 11 am to 4 pm
Stangl in Flemington: Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm
