And what was I doing in the rain? Planting peppers and eggplant a little late. They would have enjoyed getting planted out a little earlier but we just couldn't swing it. Better late than never. Just tiny little things now, that fit in the palm of my hand, but I already can't wait for them to be ready. I also planted a slew of super hot peppers for our friend Scott at the Offbeat Gourmet. This year we are growing quite a few different types for their delicious sauces, chutneys, and more. I love hot peppers. They are my weakness when it comes to ordering seeds, read, I always order and plant way too many. Each plant makes a boatload. More than I can usually sell. So I was really excited for this chance to grow a bunch of new ones! We are even growing the notorious Ghost pepper! Definitely going to suit up to harvest those bad boys.
Generally, things at the farm are looking great. This week we took the row cover off the first round of squash, cucumbers, cantaloupe. Underneath, flowers are blossoming, and even a few young squash are ripening. The potatoes are growing and growing. The first round of beans is about to bean. Everything is growing. And I can feel us catching up.
Looking forward to seeing you all at market!
