It is too dry to flame weed now, though. I would be afraid all that organic matter would burst into flame. There is rain in the forecast though. Up to a half inch could come our way. That will be the perfect weather to transplant some tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant. There is no amount of irrigation that can substitute for a nice, drenching rain. Even as we water our plants, all the soil around them is parched, drawing the water away from our plants roots. They are managing, and we are doing our best, but I think all parties involved would love a spritz to say the least.
Here is the vegetable news. Well, some of the spring greens are not doing what I wanted them to. They are all trying to flower instead of growing more tasty leaves. Unfortunately, they will be in short supply this week. In good news, fresh oregano is DELICIOUS. I think I could eat it with just about anything. One of my favorite ways is to have a little minced in with my kale salad. Another piece of good news, the sweet salad turnips are back! Sweet and tender as ever!
