And it is not just our last week of markets, but our last week of markets in New Jersey. After this week we will be swept off in a workload not of this state. Making the house livable, weeding the new hoophouse, mulching next years garlic, preparing the sites for and then building our new greenhouse and vegetable storage sites. And after it is all done, transporting our equipment, the infrastructure that makes our farm, and our lives from one state to another. So much to do. And through it, with all the happiness, and busy-ness, there will be a lingering sadness that comes with all big change.
We are going to miss here so much. All of the wonderful humans that we have gotten to know. All of the spaces, carefully tucked away within this complicated world. All of the reasons and ways that the life I am living has become possible. I don't mean to be hyperbolic, but I am truly grateful.
Stock up on garlic to take with you through the winter. Add it to your savory dishes and think of us. Sending us your wonder-wishes.
I really hope to see you at market for a hug, filled with truth and denial of departure.
All our love,
Helen, Jim, and Exie the dog.
